Product Reviews
- Warm!! Even with the heat off the liner is very cozy and comfortable.
- Battery life seems very good after 2 weeks of continous use...easy to turn off for a bit to save the battery if needed for a long day!! Easy to remove the battery from the cuff of the mitten and charge it.
- The palm zipper is mandatory for photographers...I can shoot with the mittens on...its bulky and a bit cumbersom but can be done!!
- Make sure you check the compatability of your liner for touch screens before your trip...both your phone and camera touch screens!!
- Mittens are bulky. They do limit functionality with the cameras which is why I wear a liner...I do not want to hold a freezing camera with bare hands...I can live with the bulkyness as needed in most situations.
Being my first pair of heated gloves I had many questions about these. I've only ever used hand-me-down snow gloves that were good, but a size too small. After measuring my hand to be ~ 19 CM I went with the XL's for peace of mind being that they're mittens anyway. (I'm not really worried about dexterity, plus I can put any glove liners in there for extra protection.) In US sizes I'm typically a men's medium-ish so please MEASURE and look at the sizing guide. They seem like they fit as described in the guide. If you're right on the cusp between sizes like me, you'll fit in either, it'll just depend if you like them tighter or looser.
There is just the thumb portion and four finger + palm spaces in the gloves. No psuedo-glove liner that separates your fingers. The "mobility zipper" on the inside of the palm leads directly through to finger space allowing for touch control of devices and other higher dexterity needs. The zippers were exactly the size needed to operate gloved as well so no worries there.
The carrying case they come in is nice. The batteries are -pre charged a little for proper battery storage which is useful for testing as well. As the picture shows the cuffs are huge. They go over my jacket's outer shell and personally I would prefer they be smaller. The battery compartments are a perfect size and accessible without turning the glove inside-out once you know where everything is. As stated, the warming coils are in the thumb and back of hand mostly. On high heat, they gave a noticeable effect after a minute or so but I have not tested them in freezing temperatures yet.
The gloves weren't cumbersomely heavy and the batteries didn't prod or poke my forearms. I also tested the fingers and palm area under running water for a couple seconds and the fabric / leather resisted it just fine. I'm slightly worried about snow getting under the cuff during a fall but there is an elastic draw cord and barrier to resist this.
- True to size
- Soft interior
- Good heating effect
- Carrying case included
- Zipper to access fingers when needed
