Hook to battery tender and not harness

I already have a battery tender attached to my battery. I thought why do I need a second connection to my battery? Also, my battery is very hard to get to. I worked with the Warming Store and was able to purchase “Tourmaster Synergy Pro-Plus 12V SAE/Coaxial Adaptor” for $7.99 to attach to my “pigtail” at the end of my battery tender and not purchase the battery harness recommended. My motorcycle repair shop told me that battery tenders come with 15-amp fuses which is more than enough to handle the jacket and gloves. The Coaxial Adaptor connects to the Gerbing 12V Digital Dual Portable Temperature Controller which connects to my jacket and gloves.
